Whittier Youth Ministry mission is to develop youth into a loving, active serving relationship with Jesus, for Jesus.
Mission Statement:
As the Youth Council our main mission statement is " To disciple our youth to become leaders and a witness for Christ."
We want a youth to make a life-long committment to Jesus Christ and His Mission
We seek to fulfill the mission through the following evangelistic programs and ministries to youth:
Sabbath School Classes - every Sabbath 9:15am -
Youth Vespers - every Friday - 7pm - Rotation:1st Friday: Karen Green & any youth counsel member, 2nd Friday: Michelle Bonnin & Vicky Avila, 3rd Friday: Lewston Morris & Jonathan Avila, 4th Friday: Movie Night Vespers - any youth counsel can bring a movie
Outings and Outreach - every month - we have a Calendar of Youth Events
Weekday/Sabbath Afternoon Bible Studies: Bible studies for our young people, a video bible study for the young people and Bible study whether it be on Sabbath afternoon or during the weekday.
Accountability: Accountability of leaders to specific tasks - If at least 3 or 4 leaders are at each event then there will be support
Building Relationships/Mentoring: Whether it will be accountability, making sure they keep their promises, support being their for them during difficult times, or evangelism giving them insight and understanding into the word whether they are new or struggling with their faith in Christ, Each kid needing either one or all of them.
Other Ministries: getting these kids involved in other ministries in the church, whether it be music, PA, greeters, or Praise team. Lets try and see if we can get these kids involved in church.
Young Adults: Our young adult department needs to be rebuilt and is undergoing relational faith building
Get involved, Grow Together, andLet's Go Together to fullfill the Mission of Christ

How to Grow as a Group: Our Goals as a body...
Strategic Theme #1 CONNECTING - as a group of current believers and new believers our goal first as youth is to REACH, CONNECT and RECLAIM other youth to know and make a decision to serve the Lord Jesus here on earth and for all eternity.
Strategic Theme #2 GROWING - as a growing body of believers we want to understand our individual worth by GROWING, DISCOVERING, AND DEVELOPING our spiritual gifts, abilities, potential, and purposes for life through and by growth in DISCIPLSHIP.
Strategic Theme #3 MAINTAINING - as a claimed body of believers and as a Disciple of Jesus Christ we are released to infect others for a full life of FELLOWSHIP and SERVICE into the MISSION-FIELD and to ourselves RUN AND FINISH WELL, the race and course set before us, all the way through eternity.
THE YOUTH LEADER'S WORK is to:
- Achieve a balanced ministry by incorporating the Biblical dynamics of fellowship, nurture, worship, and mission.
- Relate effective ministry to the needs of youth.
- Conduct competency and ongoing research to discover areas that need attention in the ever-changing youth culture.
- Seek divine guidance through God's Word.
- Equip and empower youth for a life of service within God's church and community.
